April 2nd, 2011 : Today was a match between India vs Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2011. This was the Final match of the league. Sri Lanka have won the toss and elected to bat. Jayawardene finished unbeaten on 103 off 88 balls, sharing in a crucial 66-run partnership with Nuwan Kulasekara which gave Sri lanka an above-par total at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Thisara Perera (22 unbeaten) finishing the innings in style when he swung Zaheer Khan over square leg for six, leaving the capacity stadium speechless. A superb century from Mahela Jayawardene lit up the World Cup final and threatened to take the game away from India as Sri Lanka posted 274 for six after winning a controversial toss.

March 30,2011 : It was the 2nd Semi Final of Cricket World Cup 2011. The team India takes on Pakistan at the PCA stadium Mohali. The coin was turn in the favor of team India and they decided to bat first on a batting friendly wicket. The Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar started the Innings of team India along with Virendar Sehwag. Both the players provide team India a flying start. Virendar Sehwag looked more aggressive and stroked some brilliant shorts. The Pakistan team strikes as Riaz got the wicket of Sehwag after scoring 38 runs 25 balls. After that Gambhir and Tendulkar carried the momentum and took the team score up to 100 runs in between 20 overs. The Pakistan team drop some catches of Tendulkar in the middle overs. Gambhir was failed to play a long Inning and got out after scoring 27 runs in 32 balls. The Pakistan teams pull things back after they got quick wickets of Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli. Team India has loosing their way in the match. It was Tendulkar carried his good form and stroked a fine half century. The Captain Shahid Afridi breaks the hopes of team India as he took the wicket of Tendulkar after scoring 85 runs in 115 balls. It was a brilliant effort by the Pakistan bowling attack. In the end it was Raina and who took the team score up to 200 runs. Team India failed to convert a good start into big runs and manages a fighting total of 260 runs in 50 overs.

It was the 1st Semi Final match between Sri Lanaka vs New Zealand in Cricket World Cup 2011. It was a big match for both the teams for their place in the finals. The New Zealand team won the toss and decided to bat first. The wicket keeper McCullum and Guptill started the Innings of New Zealand team. It was not a good beginning for the kiwis team as McCullum was got out in the quick session. It was big wicket for the Sri Lanka team. After that Guptill and Rayder played well and took the New Zealand team score up to 50 runs. Rayder was not able to play a long inning and got out after scoring 19 runs in 34 balls. The total team score of New Zealand team was 69 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. After that Taylor and Styris played well for the New Zealand team and scored useful runs for the team. March 26, 2011 : Today was the 4th Quarter Final match between England aSri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2011. The match was played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. England have won the toss and elected to Bat. Battling stifling heat and disciplined bowling, England overcame a slow start. England’s opening pair Andrew Strauss (5) and Ian Bell (25) were unable to get their side off to any sort of start, both men out within nine overs. Trott made 86 in 115 balls, falling in the penultimate over while Morgan addde much-needed urgency to the innings with a typically inventive and breezy 50 in 55 balls. Bopara (31) hitting just one boundary, did a necessary job. Trott fell as he pushed for big runs towards the death, caught in the deep by Mahela Jayawardene off Muralitharan, which left Sussex pair Matthew Prior and Luke Wright to bat out the remaining balls, finishing unbeaten on 22 and one respectively. Jonathan Trott and Eoin Morgan scored contrasting half-centuries as England posted a score of 229-6 in their ICC Cricket World Cup quarter-final against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Sri Lankan openers Tillakaratne Dilshan (108) and Upul Tharanga (102) both scored unbeaten centuries to help their side pull off a ten-wicket win over England and qualify for the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 in Colombo. Today Sri Lanka had one of the most comprehensive victories in front of a buoyant home crowd, Dilshan and Tharanga scored their 700th run of the tournament in partnership – a new record and they reached their victory target in 39.3 overs – with more than ten to spare. Both players were in sparkling form and by the end, they were toying with England – Dilshan blocking rank bad balls from Graeme Swann to give Tharanga the chance to reach three figures. Sri Lanka will now meet New Zealand in Colombo on Tuesday.

It was the 3rd quarterfinal of Cricket World Cup 2011. The South Africa team takes on New Zealand at Mirpur. The Kiwis team won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision of batting not went in the favor of New Zealand team as McCullum and Guptill was got out in very quick time. It was an early break through for the South Africa team. After that Ross Taylor and Jesse got together and scored useful run for the New Zealand team. They took the New Zealand team score up to 100 runs but Taylor was unfortunate to get out after scoring 43 runs in 72 balls. The left handed Jesse Ryder carried his good form and stroked a brilliant half century. The South Africa young leggy Tahir got the wicket of Rayder and pull things back for the South Africa team. After the wicket of Rayder New Zealand team wickets were falling like trump cards. In the end with an impressive effort of New Zealand lower order the team manages a small total of 221 runs in 50 over.
