Both the batsmen were remain unbeaten the team India finally won the match by 5 wickets and seal their place into the semi final of World Cup 2011.

March 19, 2011 : Today was a match between Australia vs Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2011. This was the 40th match of the league. The match was played at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Team Australia won he toss and elected to bat. Shane Watson and Brad Haddin didnt had a good start for Australia. Shane Watson (9) was bowled by Gul in 5th over.Then Ricky Ponting (19) partened with Hadden and took the team score to 75. Haddin was next to go, caught behind off Wahab Riaz, departing for 42 from a massive 80 deliveries – a sign that no Australian batsman truly got in. After That Australia started loosing quick wickets. Cameron White was runout at 8 runs. Quick wickets was putting Australia in tatters. Michael Clarke was next highest scorer with 34 from 48 balls before he was bowled by a Razzaq in-swinger, and with Michael Hussey falling tamely in the next over to Abdur Rehman Australia had no recognised batsmen left to power them to a reasonable score. When Hussey departed at 12 runs Australia was in deep trouble. Australia lost its 7th wicket of Mitchell Johnson who departed at duck. Now the team score was 147/7 in 38.4 overs. Australia was reeling as with their continuous fall of wickets. Steven Smith chipped in with 25, but the innings fizzled out and was brought to a close after 46.4 overs. Champions Australia were shot out for 176 runs by Pakistan on Saturday in their World Cup Group A match, the outcome of which will decide the top spot in the group.

Pakistan, who were incidentally the last team to have beaten Australia in World Cup before today, first shot their opponents out for a modest 176 in 46.4 overs before chasing down the target with nine overs to spare at Premadasa stadium. Chasing 177 for a win, Pakistan suffered early jolts with fast bowler Brett Lee ripping through their top-order with a sensational four-wicket burst before romping home. Mohammad Hafeez (5) was caught and bowled by Bret Lee. Kamran Akmal was lbw by Bret Lee at 23. Bret Lee took 2 more wickets of Younus Khan (31) and Misbah-ul-Haq (0). Team captain Shahid Afridi caught by Bret Lee on ball of Krejza. Razzaq hit the winning run — a four — as Pakistan reached 178 for six in 41 overs. Both the sides have already qualified for quarterfinals before the match but with today’s win, Pakistan top Group A with 10 points while Australia (nine) finished third behind Sri Lanka (nine) on net run rate. New Zealand are fourth with eight points.
