February 15, 2011 : The one of the co host of ICC World Cup 2011 team Sri Lanka will battle West Indies team in their 11th warm up match of the tournament. Both the teams are well known to condition of the wicket. The two teams had quality players who can change the match at any stage. The Coin was turn in the favor of West Indies team as they won the toss and decided to bat first. The due factor will play a crucial part in all the day night matches of World Cup.

The Captain Chris Gayle and Smith started the innings of West Indies team. It was not a good start for the West Indies team as they lost their 1st wicket as Smith was got out at the bowling of Melinga. After that Bravo and Gayle played very well and took the West Indies score up to 50 run. Gayle looked in good touch and stroked the ball all round the park. The Sri Lanka bowlers were failed to break the run rate of West Indies team. It was Muralidharan breaks the partnership and took the wicket of Chris Gayle after scoring a briiliant half century. After the wicket of Chris Gayle the West Indies team lost some quick wickets. The West Indies team batsmen was got out after getting a good start. The West Indies with a little contribuition by their middle and lower order batsmen finally able to set a fighting total of 281 runs in 50 overs.

The Sri Lanka team got a long batting line up and needs to show their talent at the field. Tharanga and Dilshan started the run chase for Sri Lanka in drametic style. Both the openers got Sri Lanka team a flying start as they took the score up to 50 run in the 8 over. The West Indies team bowlers was not able to stop the strokes of Dilshan. Tharanga was back to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs. After that Captain Sangakara and Dilshan got together and took the score up to 100 runs. It was a good partnership for the Sri Lanka team. The West Indies team strikes as they picked up the important wicket of Dilshan after scoring 62 runs in 50 balls. The Sri Lanka team batsmen got the runs but failed to play a long inning. The West Indies team picked up wickets at regular intervals. The Sri Lanka team with a remakble innings of Sangakara got closer to the total of West Indies team. The Sri Lanka team with a impressive batting performance won the match by 4 wickets. It was a great performance by the Sri Lankan Tigers.
